What? An award? Me?

I have a confession.  Long ago in a galaxy far far away someone gave me a blogger award and I lost track of it.  My organizational skills are shady at best.  I apologize for not being able to thank you in person for that first award.  I was thrilled.  I skipped and sang a song.

The amazing Lisa Gail Green has given me a second chance despite my previous dimwitted slight, by honoring my blog with the Stylish Blogger Award.  Run, don't walk to check out her blog Paranormal Point of View.

Seven things about myself:
1. My greatest fear is that I will be eaten by a shark or a bear.
2. I was the assistant art director on IT'S GARRY SHANDLING'S SHOW, for three seasons.
3. My collection of STAR WARS memorabilia is the envy of every ten-year-old boy on the planet.
4. I changed my daughter's middle name from Colleen to Christine in labor.
5. I enter a Zen state when I go to a bookstore or an office supply store.  Pretty, pretty post-its.
6. I was Louisa in a national tour of SOUND OF MUSIC my freshman year of high school.  Yes, I wore the sailor suit.
7. Twitter overwhelms me, but I will persevere and figure it all out.

Here's a shout out to a few of the blogs I love and am honored to pass this award along to.  Check them out and enjoy.

Jess Falling Leaflets
Monica Love YA
Michelle L. Brown Brownie Points
Julie Musil Writing and Blogging Between Carpools
Dana Elmendorf A Squirrel Among Lions
Jessica Love Jessica Love Writes

I could go on, and on, and on, and on...
Thanks to all you dedicated bloggers who teach me something new with every post and fill me with inspiration.

  1. Wow, thanks for passing on the award! I have to say, the Sound of Music fact about you is the coolest thing I've heard in a long time :)

...and your Star Wars collection would be the envy of the 15-year-old stepdaughter too!

  4. Leslie, thanks so much for sharing the award with me! I appreciate it.

Now that I know you sang in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, I fully expect to hear "I am sixteen going on seventeen..." the next time I see you. Or did one of the other Von Trapp's sing that?

  5. I'm staring at a stack of hot pink and bright orange post-its as we speak, Lisa.

Actually Julie, Liesel sings "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," but I was her understudy. I got a chance to play that role for a week or so. The first boy I ever kissed was the one playing Rolf, and it was onstage.

  6. Oh, stage kissing. Now that's a subject ripe for YA novels!

THANK YOU for the blog shout out! What an honor!

I love your list, too! I have a not-so-secret fear of balloons (firecrackers or anything else that explodes.) Once had to deal with flash pots on stage...o.O I also have an unreasonable fear of sharks and a reasonable fear of tornadoes.

  7. I would love to play a role in The Sound of Music. Preferably Liesl or The Baroness. :)

  8. Hey Michelle, fear of explosions - how could I forget that. My parents took me to Chinatown during Chinese New Year when I was ten, and I thought I was going to have a coronary with all the popping firecrackers. I can still feel the sting of one of them on my ankle.

Lee, playing Liesl was a blast. My Rolf was William Katt who used to be The Greatest American Hero on TV. Patricia Morrison played Baroness Elsa and she was perfection. Her performance was a master class on timing.

  9. I know what you mean about losing track of blogging awards! I'm so bad about reciprocating, too, even those I'm thrilled if I get one. And I'm like you, too - office supply stores are amazing places. I can never leave without picking up way too much stuff. Hubby always groans and asks me why we need more pens and folders and pretty notebooks, but I can't help myself!

  10. Welcome, Caryn. There is no resisting a fine purple gel pen. It's out of our control. We must embrace and celebrate our obsessions.

Hey, Jemi, we match four times. I think that means we are about to win the Lotto.

  15. Hi, Monica. Glad to hear your mom is doing well. My mom had surgery a few years ago and I was a ball of nerves.
