Pardon Me, Mr. Frost...

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This final stanza of Robert Frost’s poem, "The Road Not Taken" has a special place in my heart. Metaphorically, it is the voice in my head encouraging me to go my own way creatively.

I spent the last week in and around Yosemite National Park, so Frost’s words had a more literal meaning as I hiked through the beauty of the Sierras.

Here are some images along my “roads.”

The road MORE travelled by (AKA scary mountain yard art):

The road LESS traveled by (AKA *Sigh*):

Happy travels on your summer roads.

  3. I absolutely LOVE Yosemite. No matter where you look, there's something majestic. Except the mountain yard art...I've never seen that there. The residents must have put it out special for you :D

  7. I'm rather partial to funky yard art. It inspires me, but I'm weird. My family says so and I love them, so I have believe they tell me the truth. Since I live with a redwood forest as a constant friend, I'm partial to tree-inspiration as well.

Lovely glimpses of roads traveled--a lot and not so much--and back at you for best summer travel wishes.

  8. Love the pictures. The one of the tree over the river is scary. I think I'll skip on that one. I know I'll fall in. My balance sucks. ;)

  9. Deana - Yosemite is worth every amount of effort it takes to get there. It will stop your heart.

Lee - I too have a penchant for goofy yard art. You should see the ones I didn't put in the post.

Stina - I'm with ya sista. I'm not going on that log.
